One day of action-packed pickleball bringing fathers and families together

Fathers and their kids, from young to old, will partner in a celebration of the sport that brings people of all ages together. Four categories of players from under 13 to kids of any age, will compete for cash prizes, free stays at Monkey Canopy along with lots of special deals on the day – and of course Free MILO® from the MILO® truck!

Note: The following categories overlap. Players cannot compete in any overlap categories
Fathers & Child Under 13  AND Fathers and Child Any Age
Fathers & Sons Under 19 AND Fathers & Daughters Under 19

1. Organiser reserves the right to make changes to the tournament rules at any time. If such changes are made they will be communicated via email, WhatsApp and on RECLUB.

2.Category Qualification Criteria
a) This is NOT a DUPR tournament we will not be checking DUPR IDs 
c) You must be over:

• For each category, participants must be related with one participant being the father of the other
• For Child 12 and under, the child can be any gender but must be 12 years old or under on the date of the competition
• For Daughters Under 19, the child must be a born female and be under 19 years old on the day of the competition
• For Sons Under 19, the child must be a born male and be under 19 years old on the day of the competition
• For child any age – there is no restriction on age or gender of the child

3. In the event that you are accepted into one of these categories, and the organiser subsequently discovers you are in breach of these rules, the organiser reserves the right to remove you from the tournament without refund of your entry fee.

4. This competition is only open to Malaysians and Malaysian resident permit holders.

1. Any dropouts from the tournament on 7th June onwards will NOT be refunded if there isn’t any replacement.

2. Your team details will be loaded into Baseline and the tournament will be run from this application

3. The deadline for the request to change of partner will be on 6th June, 6pm.

4. Players are not allowed to change their team name without informing organiser, else the team will be disqualified.

1. Players are to report to the designated court on time. If players do not show up when their game is called, NO SHOW is calculated at 10 mins after the game is called. NO SHOW is an automatic walkover.
2. All round-robin games will be played using rally scoring. The first player to reach 15 points wins, with no deuce and no serve to win.
3. Quarter Finals & Semi Finals will be played using rally scoring. The first player to reach 21 points wins, with no deuce and no serve to win.
4. Finals and #rd Place Match will be played using rally scoring. The first player to reach 21 points wins, with no deuce and but requires serve to win
5. There will be no umpire for Round Robin and quarter finals games. Line calls will be by the receiving Players. If there is any dispute, Player to settle amongst themselves. If this cannot be achieved, they may call the Tournament Director to settle the dispute.
6. In the event there is a dispute on the final point in any knockout round game and no official has seen it and players cannot resolve tournament director will ask for point to be replayed.
7. Semi Final, 3rd Place & Finals – There will be Umpire to call out score and kitchen fault. Line calls by players and with reconfirmation by Umpire subject to visibility.
8. Time out – None for Round Robin, Quarter & Semi Finals. Time Out Allowed in Finals and 3rd place match – 1 timeout per of 1 minute per team per game.
9. Hydration break – Players may take hydration break between any point, however the bottle must be on court, and they should not take longer than 30 seconds each time they drink.
10. Injury Timeout – 10 mins cumulative per team. If player is unable to continue, it will be considered as a Forfeit. Please have a timer start when the medical team is on the site.
11. Players must call out the score loud and reconfirmed by the opponent. Disputes on scores must be at the time the score is called out and not after the game is played or completed.
12. Rules subject to change at any time at the discretion of the tournament director.
13. If a player hits a ball which then hits the ceiling/roof, that shot is then considered ‘out’ by the player who hit the ball.
14. USAPA rules apply.

1. We will not have a paddle inspection, but we expect all paddles meet USAPA specifications and if the tournament director deems your paddle does not meet these specifications, they will ask you to change the paddle.

The MILO Father’s Day Pickleball Tournament –  Official Ball – OXBALLS OX-40

1. Seeding will be awarded to teams/players that advanced to the knockout stages

2. Factors that contribute to seeding will be as follows, in order of weighting

(i) Position in the group.

(ii) Number of games won.

(iii) Point difference.

(iv) Total points scored.

(v) DUPR rating.

3. Once we have established the seeds for the knockout stages, teams will be spread out to ensure no one side of the draw is “stacked” with seeds.

4. For example; Top half of the draw will contain seeds 1, 3, 5, 7 while bottom half of the draw contain seeds 2,4,6,8.

5. Further we will arrange the seeds so that the two top seeds in each draw would only meet each other at semi-final stage

*Points to note

If two teams get drawn together in the knockout round that were in the same pool in the round robin, we will manually adjust the draw, moving the two most adjacent seeded teams between draw places to ensure two teams from the same pool do not meet again in knockout stages
