The Huawei Cloud Malaysia Summit 2023, hosted in Kuala Lumpur, brought together industry leaders to discuss the pivotal role of cloud computing, big data, and AI in driving Malaysia’s tech ambitions. The event emphasised the shift from digitalisation as an option to an imperative for the nation and highlighted Huawei’s commitment to fostering innovation, embracing generative AI, and adopting a comprehensive cloud-native approach for Malaysia’s digital advancement.

Under the slogan “Take a Cloud Leap,” this year’s summit extends an inviting hand to Malaysian organisations, urging them to embrace innovation and pledge to explore uncharted territories.

“It’s all about pushing the limits of what can be achieved in the cloud, daring to dream bigger, and challenging the established norms,” emphasised Simon Sun, CEO of Huawei Malaysia, who inaugurated the summit with during the opening welcome speech.

Sun highlighted that attendees at the summit had the opportunity to learn from industry experts, thought leaders, and innovators who are shaping the future, gaining insights into the latest trends, best practices, and real-world success stories that showcase the profound impact of digital transformation.

The common thread in implementing emerging technologies is the crucial role of cloud infrastructure in facilitating their adoption. Andy Wei, Vice President of Huawei Malaysia’s Cloud Business Unit, highlighted the importance of thinking and acting “cloud-native,” emphasising an all-digital, all-cloud, AI-driven, Everything-as-a-Service approach.

He added that Huawei will enable Malaysia organisations to achieve this by delivering:
